Charlotte, North Carolina-based resident Luke Stankavage attends Ardrey Kell High School where he has proven himself to be an accomplished student-athlete while being part of the basketball team. Luke Stankavage is a dedicated student with a 4.4 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS).
Established in 1921, the NHS operates chapters around the world and supports the activities of over one million of its student members. A membership with the NHS provides recognition of students’ achievements and challenges them to continue to develop themselves through participation in community and school-based activities. Students with an NHS membership gain access to a range of resources to help them prepare for college and their future careers.
To apply to become a member of the NHS, students must in grades ten to twelve, meet specified GPA requirements, and submit information about themselves to be considered. Some of the criteria considered for NHS membership includes contributions the student has made in his school or community, leadership experiences, and personal character. Once a membership is granted, students must abide by chapter bylaws including attending chapter meetings and completing service projects.
